Sóller Railway and Tram
PALMA - SÓLLER - PORT OF SÓLLER

One of the main tourist attractions of Sóller is a ride in either the nostalgic wooden train or the antique tram. The history of the old train dates to 1912 when it was originally introduced to transport citrus fruit from the Sóller valley to Palma. Now it is an hour´s ride through a spectacular landscape with bridges, viaducts and 13 tunnels. The old electric tram was inaugurated in 1913 and runs between Sóller and Puerto de Sóller. It was designed for the transport of passengers, but also used to transport goods down to the port. The ride is a unique experience that goes through the many orange and lemon groves in the valley ending at the sea in the “Puerto”(port).
